Private & Tailor-Made Sri Lanka Tours

Every itinerary we run is private. You get your own air-conditioned vehicle and a chauffeur guide who stays with you for the whole trip, and the route is built around your dates, pace, and interests rather than a fixed departure calendar. Start from one of the itineraries here and change anything — nights, stops, hotel standard, how early you want to be moving. Send us the version you want and we will cost it, at no obligation.

Every trip is costed to your dates and group size — no obligation.

A chauffeur guide is the reason Sri Lanka works so well as a private trip. Distances look short and take twice as long as the map suggests; roads are busy, signage is thin, and the good stops are rarely the ones on the main road. Having the same person driving and guiding for a week means someone who knows when to leave Kandy to beat the climb to Nuwara Eliya, and which door of the temple has no queue at four o'clock.

The itineraries on this page are starting points, not fixed products. Most people change something: an extra night where they would rather slow down, a hotel moved up or down a bracket, a temple swapped for a hike, an early flight that forces a different last night. Send us the version you want and we will re-cost it.

Group size does not change the shape of the trip. Couples, families, and small parties of friends all travel the same way — your own vehicle, your own schedule. Larger families usually take a second vehicle rather than a coach.

Questions travellers ask

What does a chauffeur guide actually do?

They drive you for the whole trip and guide you through it — explaining sites, handling tickets and timings, recommending where to eat, and dealing with anything that goes wrong. They are licensed guides, not just drivers, and they stay with you from arrival to departure.

Is it better to hire a car or take a private tour in Sri Lanka?

For most visitors, a private tour with a chauffeur guide. Self-driving means an international permit endorsed locally, left-hand traffic, and road habits that take a while to read. The cost difference is smaller than people expect once fuel, parking, and a hire excess are counted.

How far in advance should I book a private Sri Lanka tour?

Two to three months for the December to March peak and for the Kandy Esala Perahera, when the good hotels fill first. Outside those windows, three to four weeks is usually enough. We can often work with less.

Can you build an itinerary from scratch?

Yes. Send your dates, group size, interests, and rough budget, and we will draft a route from nothing. Most people find it easier to start from one of the itineraries here and tell us what to change, but either works.
